Melbourne girl thinking of moving

Hey guys!
I'm Jess (but my friends call me Zimmo), I'm planning on moving to either adelaide or sydney for uni (med) next year (just finished highschool in melb, and taking the year off to work.)

I was wondering what sort of gay scene there is in adelaide, not only in terms of support but more in terms of social stuff, and just people in general!

I googled queer adelaide, and this website came up, so I'm hopeing someone can help.

I like adelaide better in terms of living on face value, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me, from the inside, how life is being gay in adelaide, not only in general but as a student.

I don't know much about adelaide, so any info would be really helpfull!

Hey Zimmo, There is no dedicated girl bar in adelaide at the mo, but there is a girl fest night once a month and a few other girl only things each month, mar bar (gay night club in adelaide) is pretty mixed and seems to have been a large increase in girls around your age there in the last few years from what ive seen when i go out.. Check out http://www.pinksofa.com.au (http://www.pinksofa.com.au/) they are based in adelaide so you might get more information on there forums from a girl :)

Adelaide is in general is nice, good food, good wine and pretty quick to get around and cheap as well :) Most people here are pretty excepting and you could walk around most of the city centre hand in hand with a ya partner with out too much trouble if that ya thing.

Gay life was ok at uni when i was there not huge scene, was some small social groups.

I have the same question, really want to meet up with some groups and hang out! There was an SA Lesbians group on the net a while ago but i don't know where that went. Doesn't seem to be that many social groups, i can't find much at all on the net. Maybe we can start something new??
